Club Win an Award

Wyre Forest District Council - Sports Award 2019 for Inclusive Cycling

At a ceremony at Kidderminster Town Hall, Severn Valley Velo Cycling Club were presented with a Wyre Forest District Council Sports Award in the category of Inclusive Sport. During 2019 the club took over the running of monthly sessions aimed at people with physical or mental challenges who want to have a go at cycling.

These sessions use a stock of adaptive cycles that cater for a large range of challages that the cyclists. The cycles range from recumbants, hand bikes, trikes, tandem and a wheelchair adapted bike. Unfortunately it is not possible to cater for everyone's needs but we always try to find a suitable bike to give the chance of the freedom cycling provides. The sessions are run on a traffic free tarmac circuit at Stourport Sports Club, Kingsway, Stourport. Friends, family and carers are welcome to borrow or bring a bike. Everyone must wear a helmet. British Cycling coaches are available to help and support riders. There is a small charge to cover the cost of the circuit and bike maintenance. On site there is a small cafe run by Stourport Sports Club
